Passiflora incarnata

Passiflora incarnata also known as maypop flower is by far one of my favorite hardy and native vines. This is the hardiest species in the Passiflora genus. Native to the southern states of the USA. It is found in Kentucky and through Tennessee and further south. A fast grower a plant can climb a trellis in one season up to 15 feet or more. The nice 4 to 6 inch tri-lobed leaves give it a unique tropical feel. By far the most amazing feature to any passion flower is the flower. These are light purple to white in color around 4 inches across. This is a great plant for a trellis or if your looking for a vine to climb up a large feature. This plant is hardy to zone 5 and is sold in 4 inch pots.
